A Prayer
禱 告
Ever blessed God and Father, how shall we praise Thee aright for that wonderful salvation which Thou hast prepared for us in Christ Jesus!
We humbly confess that we have so little understood it, believed it, yielded ourselves to its power, and so little shown forth its beauty to the world around.
Most frequently do we pray for all saints that Thou wouldest give them a vision of the abundant life there is in Christ Jesus. May that stir their hearts to a deep unquenchable longing, to know fully what Christ is meant to be to them. May they feel deeply how all the impotence of Thy Church to bless the world, is owing to nothing but this—not giving Christ and His Holy Spirit the place in their hearts which Thou wouldest have.
And grant, above all, such an insight into the need, into the power into the blessedness of a simple whole-hearted faith in Jesus Christ, and an unreserved surrender to His mastery, that their hearts may be prepared to receive Him in all the fullness of His love and of His abiding Presence.
Our father, we beseech Thee, hear us in the Name of Jesus, and give to each reader of this little book such a sight of Thy power to fulfill in us every promise, and such a humble childlike trust in Thy faithfulness, as will be to Thy glory.
And to Thee be all the glory for ever and ever.

永遠可稱頌的父神，為着你在基督耶穌裏所為我們預備奇妙的救恩，我們不知要如何讚美才算合宜！
我們向你伏俯承認說：我們對這救恩所明白的、所相信的，對它的能力所降服的，是何等的少，我們把這救恩彰顯在世人面前的，也是何等的少。
我們熱切地為着眾聖徒能看見，在基督耶穌裏的豐盛生命來仰望你。願這禱告能在他們心中激起一個深沉而不止息的渴望，要更完滿地認識基督對他們的意義。願他們能深深的感覺到：你的教會在把祝福帶給世人的事上之無能，不是由於別的，乃是由於在他們心中，沒有照着你的意願，把當有的地位給基督和祂的聖靈。
我們特別求你使他們能看見下面兩方面的需要：有一個對耶穌基督單純而全心的相信，並對祂主權毫無保留的降服，並看見它們所帶來的能力和祝福；使他們的心準備好要接受祂的愛，以及祂持續同在中的一切豐盛。
我們的父啊，我們奉耶穌的名求你，使讀這本小冊子的讀者都看見：你的權能要在我們裏面成就你的每一個應許，並把如小孩子般的謙卑之信靠賜給每一位，使你能得着榮耀。
願一切的榮耀都歸給你，直到永永遠遠，阿門。
