最近,我們再談及自然界的奇妙,我們談到鴿子及牠飛越陌生地域回巢的奇異能力。我們敘述金睢鳩(或黃千鳥)如何於每年飛過數千哩毫無標幟的汪洋大海,直接而無誤地飛抵夏威夷。

我們談及蝙蝠的奇異雷達系統,曾如何地使科學家們感到驚異。我們談到我們的狗蓓琪和牠感人的母性本能。因此,或許可以再問,所有這些自然界的奇事怎樣發生的呢?仍然有那些欺弄我們智慧的人說,那都是碰巧的﹑偶然的一種意外事件而已。在這麼有秩序而精細複雜的自然界的背面,並沒有神的智慧或計劃。

這個題目曾一度在英國討論過。在那個討論會中,一位英國商人站起來說:「我是一個小工廠的老闆,我們在工廠裏製造碎肉機。每一具碎肉機都有十四個零件。我們工廠裏的每一位工人都要仔細地被教導如何使這十四個零件組合起來,祇有在廣博又長久地學習和練習之後,他才能正確地做。試想,我拿那十四個零件,放入一個桶中;然後,搖一搖,希望它們能偶然碰在一起,成為一個結合良好且完全的機械,那麼你將同意我:即使繼續搖動這些零件達兩百萬年,它們絕不會自動結合成為一部碎肉機。」

然而,有些人還是要說,自然世界生命的起源與奇妙,乃由於一些元素,經過數千年的混合而碰巧形成的。

你的看法如何?聖經說:「上帝的恩慈引領我們悔改。」在觀察被造世界的完美之後,我們應該回轉敬拜上帝,悔改承認我們的罪,並尋求祂的赦免。

『Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:』

Recently we have talked again about the wonders of the natural world. We spoke of the pigeon and its wonderful ability to find its way home across unknown territory. We described how the golden plover manages to fly over thousands of miles of uncharted water each year directly and unerringly to Hawaii.

We told of the bat’s marvelous radar system which has so amazed scientists. We spoke of our dog Patches and her beautiful instinct of motherhood. Now we may again ask, how did all these wonders of nature come about? Still there are those who insult our intelligence by saying it is all chance, an accident. There is no divine mind or plan behind the order and intricacy of the natural world.

This subject was once discussed in England. At that discussion a British businessman rose to his feet and said: “I am the owner of a small factory. In my factory we make meat grinders Each grinder has fourteen farts. Each worker in our factory is carefully instructed as to how the 14 parts are to be assembled. Only after extensive study and practice can he do it properly. Suppose I took those 14 parts and put them in a tub and threw them around hoping by chance they would come together into a well formed and perfect mechanism. You will agree I could throw those parts around for 2 million years and they would never assemble themselves into a meat grinder.”

And yet some people will tell us that the origin of life and the wonders of the natural world occurred by the accidental mixing of elements over thousands of years.

What do you think? The Bible says, “The goodness of God leads us to repentance.” After observing the perfection and goodness of the created world, we should turn to God in worship, repenting of our sins and seeking his forgiveness. Such forgiveness can be ours through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.
